Ich habe mir überlegt, da das ganze ein amerikanischer Sport ist, 2k14 ein amerikanisches Spiel ist, werde ich diese Story auf amerikan... ääh Englisch verfassen, deutsche Übersetzung gibt's aber im Spoiler unten drunter. Heute werde ich nur einen Text zum Einstieg, sowie das Roster veröffentlichen, morgen kommen dann je nach Lust und Laune eine Saisonzusammenfassung und eine Tradeübersicht

The 76ers in 2013 – Neither Heaven nor Hell​

After the disastrous involvation in last year’s Bynum – Iguodala – Howard Blockbuster-deal the Philadelphia 76ers have reached rock bottom. It is a team without a born scorer but a stagnating Evan Turner whose performance to this day has to be entitled disappointing in the light of his talent. And although the lottery-draftpicks Michael Carter-Williams and healthy Nerlens Noel are facing Starting-5 positions their prospected talent cannot match a Kyrie Irving or Anthony Davis.

The past offseason has much rather been the signal for a complete rebuild. The draftday trade of Jrue Holiday to the newly named Pelicans marks the beginning of a juvenile revolution. But as we know it’s always darkest before the dawn and this very dawn has to be the draft class of 2014 – Described by many as the best since 2003 it could undo several mistakes and bring a player to Philly which could be the new “Answer” to this team’s future.

Without further ado the route for this season can clearly be concluded as follows: tanking for the lottery!

Nach dem Andrew Bynum Desaster der Vorsaison stehen die 76ers wortwörtlich vorm Abgrund. Ein Team ohne geborene Scorer, einem gemessen an seinem Talent bislang enttäuschenden Evan Turner und ohne die ganz große Rookie Hoffnung aus dem Draft. Zwar starten 2 Rookies in Michael Carter-Williams und dem wiedergenesenen Nerlens Noel, doch einen Anthony Davis oder Kyrie Irving stellt von denen auch niemand dar.

Vielmehr wurde in der Offseason mit dem Draftday-Trade von Jrue Holiday nach New Orleans der absolute Umbruch eingeläutet - Jugend forscht im Exzess. Doch so dunkel muss die Zukunft nicht sein, der Blick richtet sich schon jetzt auf den Silberstreifen am Horizont – die Draft 2014! Dieser, als der stärkste seit 2003 geltende Jahrgang könnte viele Fehlschläge der jüngeren Vergangenheit vergessen machen und einen Spieler nach Philly bringen, wie man ihn seit den Tagen von „The Answer“ Iverson nicht mehr gesehen hat.

Die Marschrichtung vor der Saison ist also ausgegeben und liest sich ziemlich simpel: Tanken für die Lottery!


Wenn euch das nicht gefällt, schreibe ich auch auf Deutsch. Ich komme nur ohne Schule kaum noch zum Englisch sprechen/schreiben und das hier wäre eine nette Übung, ohne das es komplett erzwungen wirken würde :D

Mir gefällt das auf Englisch sehr gut. Seitdem ich nicht mehr zur Schule gehe, merke ich selbst wie schlecht mein Englisch langsam wird. Wenn du die Übersetzung drunterschreibst geht das voll klar, denn so kann ich auch nochmal neue Begriffe und Ausdrücke lernen. Bleib ruhig dabei :good:

Englisch ist wohl das kleinste Problem. :D
Würde mal gucken wen du für Moultrie und Kwame Brown zusammen getradet bekommen würdest...ein Ersatz PG wäre nciht shclecht. Oder im FA-Pool gucken.

Das Ziel in der Saison war ja nicht gut zu sein und dafür kanns keinen besseren als Kwame Brown geben :D

Hast du schon 'ne Draft Class? Find die Offseason immer ein Stück besser, wenn man auch "echte" Spieler draften kann, statt den erfundenen mit komischen Namen.

An abysmal run for the upcoming draft

The season for the 76ers started out with the opener against the Boston Celtics, another team which was bound to struggle in a year where most of the 2008 championship team’s core were gone. This match was supposed to be an indicator for what results could be expected. After 3 quarters of intense neck and neck basketball, the 4th quarter unraveled Philly’s lack of depth and Boston managed a win in double figures. But at least Evan Turner showed of his improved game and ended with a game high of 16 points.



The next match against the Pacers was surprisingly won, as rookie guard Michael Carter-Williams played with tremendous effort and nearly managed a triple double with 17 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists in the boxscore. Evan Turner showed again, what we can expect from him in due course and pulled off a double-double – 12 points and 10 rebounds.
In the following time, Philadelphia’s front office was called to action and managed to close in on an immensely important deal with the Milwaukee Bucks.

In exchange for Jason Richardson and Philadelphia’s first round pick in 2015 the Bucks sent Carlos Delfino and their own 2014 first round pick. Not only was this deal a kind of a gamble, as the Bucks were off to a good 3-0 start but it also worsened the team even more in terms of the individual player’s talent. To give up a good 3 point shooter and athletic swingman for a player with the one-dimensional talent of a steady jump shot can be considered as a bald move, but yet again it showed the franchise’s focus on the 2014 draft.

As it turned out, no harm was done in this deal. The Milwaukee Bucks’ playoff hopes fell to a dreadful season finish and thus the 76ers were to pick twice in the lottery.
With a 7-22 record of their own Philly finished second last to the ever-losing Charlotte Bobcats and so the excitement for the draft lottery was hyped up, the first pick was in reach and with a statistical second and tenth pick the future looked brighter than ever.

Last but not least it shall not remain untold that Michael Carter-Williams and Nerlens Noel played a great rookie season and were each elected into the NBA all-rookie 1st team.

Die Saison der 76ers began mit dem Eröffnungsspiel gegen die Boston Celtics, einem anderen Team, dem eine harte Saison prophezeit wurde. Nachdem der Großteil des Kerns der 2008er Championship-Mannschaft getradet worden war, stellte dieses Spiel eine Art Gradmesser für beide teams dar. Nach 3 Vierteln intensiven Kopf an Kopf Basketballs zeigte sich aber die mangelnde Tiefe in Philadelphia und Boston schaffte im letzten Viertel einen zweistelligen Sieg. Aber wenigstens Evan Turner zeigte sich verbessert und beschloss das Spiel mit 16 Punkten.

Das nächste Spiel gegen die Pacers konnte überraschenderweise gewonnen werden, da der Rookie Guard Michael Carter-Williams eine grandiose Leistung zeigte und den Boxscore mit 17 Punkten, 9 Rebound und 8 Assists füllte – beinahe ein Triple Double. Ein Double Double legte immerhin Evan Turner auf, der ein wiederum starkes Spiel mit 12 Punkten und 10 Rebounds beendete.

In den nächsten Tagen stieg Philadelphias Management in das Geschehen ein und schaffte es, einen Deal von immenser Wichtigkeit mit den Milwaukee Bucks auszuhandeln. Im Tausch gegen Jason Richardson und den 2015 first round pick, schickten die Bucks Carlos Delfino und ihren eigenen 2014 first round pick zu den 76ers. Dieser Deal war ein Pokerspiel von beiden Seiten, denn die Bucks hatten mit 3-0 einen Traumstart in die Saison hingelegt und hegten berechtigte Playoff-Hoffnungen, aber dazu kam aus Philadelphias Sicht noch die weitere Verschlechterung des Teams. Einen 3-Punkt Schützen und athletischen Swingman gegen den eindimensionalen Carlos Delfino zu tauschen, kann als mutig bezeichnet werden, zeigte jedoch wie sehr sich die Franchise auf die Draft 2014 konzentrierte.

Wie sich herausstellte, hatte Philly alles richtig gemacht, da die Bucks einem miserablen Endspurt zum Opfer fielen und die Playoffs nicht erreichten und sie sich daher auf 2 Lottery Picks einstellen konnten.

Mit dem eigenen 7-22 Record wurde man vorletzter, denn nur die stets versagenden Bobcats waren noch schlechter. Und so begann in der Stadt ein Hype um die Lottery, denn der erste Pick war nicht nur in Reichweite, auch mit einem statistisch gesehenen 10. und 2. Pick sah die Zukunft gleich wieder viel besser aus.

Zu guter Letzt soll nicht verschwiegen werden, dass sowohl Michael Carter-Williams und Nerlens Noel eine super Rookie Saison spielten und beide in das NBA All-Rookie first Team gewählt wurden.

The Road ahead – The draft and the upcoming offseason

To complete the novel of the 2013/14 NBA season the Houston Rockets have won their first NBA title since Hakeem Olajuwon in the years w/o Jordan and once again a dominant Big Man helped them do it. Dwight Howard won the NBA Finals MVP title in a series against Miami that went down to the wire of Game 7.

First important thing for the not-so-successful teams was the draft lottery and that looked good for the 76ers. They came up with picks No 2 and 8 in a very strong draft class. Although Charlotte won the first pick Philadelphia was ecstatic for the soon-to-arrive youths.

After some weeks of intense training camps the night of the nights for the young players and the awaiting franchises had come. Philadelphia was reportedly narrowing in on Jabari Parker as 2nd pick and Wayne Selden as the 8th pick because designated superstar Andrew Wiggins was surely to go to Charlotte. After Adam Silver had opened the evening for the first time in his role as commissioner, Charlotte and that’s to be said, Michael Jordan surprised everyone by picking Marcus Smart – the projected third pick at Number 1. The Point Guard out of Oklahoma State seemed to be surprised himself and so were the 76ers executives. There was not much knowledge about Andrew Wiggins that exceeded his college career as no one had seen this change of events coming. And yet the 76ers had the chance to draft this tremendous talent and took it at once. The following picks were chosen as the mock draft had predicted and after pick Number 5 – Julius Randle to the Jazz – the Knicks’ executives who were to choose next, came to talk with Philadelphia GM Sam Hinkie and asked to swap their 6th pick for Philadelphia’s 8th pick plus the 26th first round pick that had come from the Pelicans as part of the Jrue Holiday-Nerlens Noel trade. Sam Hinkie took the opportunity to draft Glenn Robinson III who was predicted to go at 7 but had outshone many others at 76ers training camp.

With those two picks of Andrew Wiggins and Glenn Robinson III the whole city looked at the next season very differently as the free agency approached. Evan Turner was given a new contract draft for negotiation as was Spencer Hawes after both made a great leap the season before. But that was no surprise. The real bombshell was dropped by someone else. After losing the Finals, LeBron James quietly opted out of his contract to become a free agent.

Sehr geil, du hast Wiggins bekommen. Über Glenn Robinson II kann ich nicht viel sagen, aber welche Wertung haben die beiden denn ?
Dürftest aufjeden Fall eine sehr gute und vorallem junge Truppe für die nächsten Jahre haben :good:

Money Plus a Postive Outlook

With the approaching free agency, not all of the 76ers roster spots were already taken and with a lot of cap space at their hands the front office around GM Sam Hinkie did not think twice when it came to making an offer to the King. With Wiggins and Glenn Robinson III there were two promising rookies, with Noel and Carter-Williams two already established sophomores and with Turner, Hawes and Young their was plenty of talent that Philadelphia could offer LeBron James as an environment in which he could be the unquestioned leader and not be accompanied by two other max-deals superstars. The 76ers were confident that their maximum contract offer would stand a chance in the rally for James in which reportedly participated more than six teams just three days into the free agency.
But Sam Hinkie was not making a bet solely on James, he also approached restricted free agent Paul George from the Indiana Pacers and offered him a maximum contract. One week later something happened that showed Philly that their work had been appreciated, as both superstars were ready to sign their contracts. With only cap space for one of them, the 76ers quickly decided to go for LeBron. Not only because he was the better and more experienced player but also because there was some risk into the deal with George as the Pacers still held the right to match every offer.

All this had gone over with very quietly - seemingly James had learned from his prior mistakes ("The Decision") - and so the press was very apprehensive when the 76ers announced a special press conference in mid July. As the bomb dropped there was no holding back in the city of brotherly love. From a bottom of the league team to a contender with the best player in the game bound for 4 years the euphoria was unmatched.
But soon critical voices came up in the other parts of the country. Although the names looked great one could not argue that the team was not unbalanced in its line-up. Two power forwards and two centers, one true point guard, not one shooting guard but six (!) small forwards don't sound like a contending team to the experts. So it seems sure that we have not yet seen the final roster for the next season!

Geil, du hast Lebron bekommen. Auch wenn ich ihn nun wirklich nicht mag, ist er trotzdem ein toller Spieler. Damit solltest du aufjeden Fall Titenanwärter sein. Auch im Hinblick was noch kommt an Spielern. Bin gespannt wen du als SG holst und wen du dafür abgibst. Material genug hast du dafür ja.
Bin auch gespannt drauf, wie du das mit Wiggins macht. Spielt ja auf derselben Position wie Lebron. :yes:

Leider funktioniert der Small Ball meiner Meinung nach nciht so gut in 2k. Wenns auf Wiggins SF und Lebron PF hinausläuft.
